Easy Bourbon Chicken Thighs

I know I’m not the only one that remembers food court Chinese food. This is an amazing, super easy copycat (and I’m sure significantly healthier) that you’ll be so glad you made. My husband said it’s one of his top 3 recipes I’ve ever made, so you know it’s a winner 😉

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Chicken Thighs
  • Soy Sauce
  • Hoison
  • Dark Brown Sugar
  • Bourbon (optional)
  • Garlic

RECIPE VARIATIONS

  • Chicken Thighs: These give the best flavor, swap for whatever you prefer!
  • Sauce: All of these ingredients (minus the bourbon!) are necessary for the sauce flavor. Skip the bourbon if you prefer.

Bourbon Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 5 chicken thighs seasoned with onion powder, garlic powder, Lowry's
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup hoison
  • 6 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 shot bourbon
  • 2 tsp garlic

Instructions
 

  • Season chicken thighs and grill (or cook preferred way.) Cook choice of vegetables.
  • On low heat mix soy sauce, hoisin, brown sugar, bourbon, and garlic, cooking for 3-5 minutes until sauce becomes frothy.
  • Dice chicken thighs and add to sauce. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until chicken is coated in sauce.
  • Add vegetables and mix again. Serve over rice with green onion and drizzle with remaining sauce.
